I'm ready to come clean: I've been banging this laid-back business drum for a few years now. I first started talking about it in the summer of 2023. My first promotion to help point people in this direction was called "The Laid Back List Builder Bootcamp." A mouthful, I know. But I wanted to help people automate their audience growth through ads so they wouldn't be shackled to social media algorithms anymore. At the end of the awkwardly titled bootcamp, I invited people to an 8-week "Laidback Business Accelerator" where we started installing the rest of the pieces. Since then, I've helped over 500 people through that bootcamp and over 150 through the Accelerator. And I've learned that a lot of people love the idea of building a laid-back business... But not the journey of attaining it. When I was restarting my revenue engine, I was anything but laidback. I worked around the clock trying to get an offer to stick. I remember long nights and even a few weekends to figure out my frameworks and my offers. I did a handful of random VIP Days to see where people were getting stuck. And within a few months (and hundreds of conversations), I noticed enough similarities in the struggling marketplace to put together a series of offers to begin solving those problems. Took me about 5 months to make my first coaching offer. My group cohort offer came 4 months after that. A membership 2 months later. Those ^ are the ingredients of a laid-back business, but the dues were paid with a solid offer, tons of market interaction, and value added over several months. Laid-back is the destination.
