One day, I was walking to my truck in downtown Colorado Springs. Not exactly the hustle and bustle of mid-town Manhattan... But there were a few blocks between the coffee shop and my vehicle. I zipped up my hoodie to shield myself from the wind as I waited for the crosswalk light to turn white. After my foot hit the pavement on the other side of the street, I was accosted by a clipboard-wielding guy in his early 20s. "SIR," He exclaimed. "DO YOU LIKE COFFEE?" I took a step back and processed his inquiry. "Yes, I like coffee... but why is he talking to me??" I thought to myself. I shuffled around him, annoyed, and got in my truck. To this day, I'm not sure why he asked. Maybe he owned a coffee shop? Maybe he wanted me to sign a coffee petition? Maybe he was with "Big Tea" and wanted to take down the Colorado coffee empire. I guess we'll never know. Here's why I'm telling you this: A lot of online creators push too hard to make the sale. They jump out of the proverbial bushes and pounce on an unsuspecting prospect. No trust has been built. No demand has been created. Maybe this sounds familiar. That's why, instead of offering my stuff to strangers... I use what I call a "bankshot offer." This is (usually) a low-ticket, no-brainer offer that solves a super-specific problem. For example, I'll teach how to write an ad, or make a lead magnet, or write a welcome series. And I'll charge the price of a sandwich. Low risk for the buyer. Easy to say yes to. Easy for me to deliver on. Then, when I'm done teaching the workshop, I'll sell the next step of my process. I'm not trying to hit a hole-in-one off the tee box from 432 yards away... I'm tapping in a 4-inch putt. It's simple and dangerously effective. Tomorrow, I'll share my favorite types of "bankshot" offers that will work great, depending on where you're at with your audience. Enjoy your Saturday. Talk soon, ~ Cody "Just tap it in" Burch P.S. Whenever you're ready, here's how I can help you build an email-based laidback business:
