My family has been on a mission this week:

Find the best shave ice on Kauai.

A few nights ago, after dinner, we found a highly rated spot a few minutes from our Airbnb.

We loaded up the minivan and drove to a shopping center tucked behind some palm trees.

We found parking.

We piled out.

We made the trek across the lot, past a ukulele store, past a juice bar… until we got to the place.

And then we saw the sign.

“Back in 20 minutes.”

The posted hours said they should’ve been open.

But the place was dark.

One of my kids looked at the sign, shrugged, and said:

“Maybe they already made enough money today.”

We all laughed.

It probably wasn’t true… but what if it was?

What if they hit their sales target early… and just closed up shop for the day?

Not staying open late to chase one more sale from a hungry tourist.

Just: “We’re good. We’re done. We’re going to the beach.”

That moment stuck with me.

Because isn’t that the dream for us?

To build something that runs smoothly enough, profitably enough, that you get to decide when to be done for the day.

Not because you’re burned out.

But because… it’s enough.

Maybe your version of “Back in 20 minutes” is closer than you think.
