Last month, 2 of my nieces came to Colorado with their new fiancés. It was part vacation, part celebration. So my wife booked her favorite Italian restaurant for a "happy engagement" dinner. When we arrived at the lakeside restaurant, we walked up to the host stand and gave them our name. The hostess congratulated my nieces on their new engagement (my wife made a note on the reservation) and offered to take our coats before showing us to our table. As we were getting seated, the servers pulled back the chairs for the ladies. They placed napkins in our laps, poured water, and told us about the night's specials. And we ate, laughed, and celebrated. We agreed it was a great first impression. That whole experience got me thinking, "How can I mimic this warm greeting with my email list?" Enter: The Welcome Series. It's the "may I take your coat" component every new subscriber goes through. First impressions matter. And if we get our welcome series right, we set ourselves up for a long relationship with our list. But imagine if we went to the restaurant, were ignored by the host, sat ourselves, and had to beg for water... I shudder at the thought. If you need to write/tighten your Welcome Series, you're in luck. I just transplanted my entire Welcome Series Workshop + Welcome Series Wizard into Email School. The Workshop shows you how to do it. The Wizard does it for you in minutes. If you're already a member, click here to get started. If you're not a member (yet), click here to join for $5. ...and get your Welcome Series done this weekend. Talk soon, ~ Cody |
