I was dozing on the couch last night scrolling YouTube.

My family shares an account, so my algorithm is all messed up.

It's a weird mix of marketing tactics (me), Minecraft streamers, and extreme dirt-bike stunts (my kids).

A new video popped up from the channel "Beard Meets Food" - a guy who travels the world finishing eating challenges.

In this video, he set out to break the pizza-slice record at Gordon Ramsay's Street Pizza restaurant.

Spoiler alert: the record was 38 slices in 2 hours, and he broke it.

As I watched the video, I was impressed by 3 things:

  1. The massive beard of the guy in the video
  2. The sheer volume of food he was able to consume
  3. The clear naming of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants

With Gordon's restaurants, you never have to wonder what they serve.

He has a burger restaurant called Burger.

You'll never believe what he calls his steakhouse. (If you guessed Steak, you're right!)

A quick-serve restaurant selling fish and chips? He calls it Fish & Chips.

When it comes time to name your thing, remember this rule:

Clear is better than clever.

I've had some cleverly named offers in my day. They made me smile and smirk.

But they also made me poor.

No one knew what they were, what they did, or how they worked.

But I've gotten better.

Just last week, I rolled out a new service called Workshop in a Box.

If you had to guess... what do you think this service includes?

Next week, I'm hosting the Upgrade My Offer Bootcamp.

My email membership is called Email School.

And so on.

If you want to make more sales of your offer, give it the clearest name possible.

Don't be clever and poor.

Be clear and rich.

You got this,

~ Cody
