I'm in my Frankenstein era: I have a long string of black stitches on my upper right back. I ended a routine doctor's visit in July on the business end of a scalpel, and now I'm banned from physical activity while the site heals. (All was fine, by the way. Thanks for your concern.) But... Doc said I can't lift anything over 10 pounds for a few weeks. Which means the huge laundry detergent jug, the kitchen trash bag, or even my tiny dog are off-limits. And the gym? Forget about it. This is a problem for me, because I don't just "go to the gym". I am a gym-goer. The gym isn't a place I go. It's who I am. I'm not saying I crush it every day, but I go every day for as long as I can remember. Closing the rings on my Apple Watch is as dependable as the sun rising in the east. So being black-listed from lifting anything heavy has thrown me off my routine. Today I woke up early as usual, drank some black coffee, grabbed my headphones and electrolytes and... Went for a walk (lame). I am a creature of habit - both in life and in business. I like my routines and rhythms. They keep me in flow and give me structure in an orderless business landscape. That's why I'm such a fan of monthly workshops. Each month, I turn up for ~90 minutes and share something with my audience. I build connections, share what's working, and help people. It's why one of the pillars of my business is a "revenue rhythm." When you host a monthly workshop, you get in flow with promoting, presenting, and pitching. It builds trust, reliability, and regularity. I'm still banned from the gym for 10 more days, but that workshop will happen this month. I guarantee it. ~ Cody P.S. Would you like to install a revenue rhythm in your business, too? If so reply to this email with the word RHYTHM and I'll show you how I do it. |
