Every few weeks, I get together with a few other coaches on Zoom. We talk about the stuff you don't see online. The real stuff. We share what's working and a challenge we're navigating. Today, one of the members told a tale about how she'd spent years going after this one specific goal. She wrote the goal on a Post-It note and slapped it on her laptop screen. A daily reminder of something she was working hard to achieve. And last Fall, that goal was accomplished. She was elated. But soon after hitting the goal, everyone asked her "What's next??" It's like winning the Super Bowl, holding a trophy filled with confetti, and someone sticks a mic in your face and asks, "What's next??" Why are we so obsessed with "What's next" after we conquer something huge and meaningful? Maybe you're the same way... So here's what I want you to do:
You did it. That thing you dreamed of, you achieved. You from 3, 5, or 10 years ago would be astonished at everything you've accomplished. So instead of asking "What's next??" a nanosecond after knocking out a big goal... Just pat yourself on the back. Enjoy the moment. You've earned it. ~ Cody P.S. You may not feel like you've "arrived," but still, celebrate the wins. We don't judge wins here. Small or big, pat yourself on the back regardless. |
