It's Christmas in Colorado Springs, which means the Broadmoor is showing off. The Broadmoor is one of those super duper fancy hotels where kings, queens, and presidents feel right at home. Gold carpet. Purple curtains. Strict dress codes. It's luxuriously over the top, but it's fun to visit. Every year, we swing by one evening to drink hot cocoa and look at the Christmas lights. And in the main building lobby, at the top of the old escalator near the library, the pastry chefs show off their gingerbread skills. They spend months cooking, creating, and carving an enormous edible display. It's like if Willy Wonka lived in Colorado and owned a hotel. They've made a race car, a train, a boat... And this year? A life-sized golf cart. The stats are wild:
It takes a team of dozens of people months to prepare. It's a complex, cavity-inducing sugar overload. ... and it's the exact opposite of how I run my business. I keep things simple. My email list grows automatically with an 'ads machine.' I send a daily email to a few more folks than the day before. I host a paid workshop every month or 2. And those workshop goers join my backend programs. It may not attract tourists in droves... But it's simple (and it works). In a world of life-sized gingerbread golf carts... Be a Hershey Kiss.
