We got into Amarillo, TX, last night to see my wife's family for the holidays. Today, I got up early to head to the gym and retrieve the jewel of the Texas panhandle: Donut Stop. Gym and donuts? Yes. It's the holidays. There are no rules. Anyway, on the drive home, I stopped at Palace Coffee for a blueberry latte for my wife. It's our 22nd wedding anniversary, after all. I intended to spend about $12 bucks. I spent $211.09 instead 😬 Here's how: There's no kettle at my in-laws house. I like pour-over coffee. This is a problem. Luckily, they had one for sale at Palace. I grabbed the box and took it to the counter. "How much is this?" I asked. The friendly barista with a West Texas drawl said, "$195." Gulp. But I needed it. It's my anniversary. I have an old, rusted kettle at home. With this new one, you can preschedule your hot water! It has wifi!! It's the same one they use at my favorite coffee shop. So I got it. 😬 Hope my wife likes it. Here's the lesson: Some people will come into a coffee shop and pay $2.85 for drip coffee. Some will leave with a $200 wifi-enabled kettle. Make sure you have offers at different price points. For example... I have a "name your price" Launch offer for $1+. I also have VIP Implementation Days for $5,000. And a bunch of stuff in between. Remember that 10% of your audience will pay 10x the price for 10x the access. Offer accordingly. OK, I'm off to make some coffee. Talk tomorrow, ~ Cody |
