In January 2023, 15 months ago, I was fresh off losing my 9-5 job. What I thought would provide stability only provided heartache. I was really scared. It took me a few months to get back on my feet, but by every measure, 2023 was the best of my 7+ year entrepreneurial career. As I built back up, brick by brick, a pattern emerged. I was stubbornly creating what I now call a "laidback online business." ...A business void of complexity, teams, overhead, expense, and restrictions. I changed how I created offers and focused on mini-workshops and VIP days, so I had 100% control of my calendar. I changed how I delivered programs so I was never bogged down in client fulfillment. I changed how I marketed my offers so I never had to worry about growing my list. I (mostly) stopped posting on social media. I stopped going to networking events altogether. And it worked. Time to start checking things off my bucket list that had been there too long. Tomorrow, my wife and I head to Italy with my parents to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They've never been overseas. I've only been once. We're nervously excited. A year ago, I was on hold with the unemployment office for an hour... And now we're making memories with my folks because I know they won't be around forever. So, whatever your reason for starting a business, this is a reminder to keep going. There are people that need your help. There are memories to be made and places to visit. Don't stop. You got this, ~ Cody "Gelato For Breakfast" Burch P.S. Whenever you're ready, here are 4 more ways I can help you grow a laidback online business:
