We went on a July 4th road trip last week.

Home (Colorado Springs) -> Amarillo, TX (see the in-laws) -> Oklahoma City (final destination) -> back home.

Lots of podcasts, dodgy bathroom stops, and audiobooks.

And, in case you've never traveled through the panhandle of Texas into Oklahoma...

You see miles and miles of crops.

The fields go so far into the distance that you can see the curvature of the Earth.

Now, I'm no farmer (I grew up in Dallas), but I know for those crops to grow big and tall now...

They were planted in the past.

Someone tilled the soil, planted the seed, and took care of it until harvest time.

Reminds me of my email list.

I've been growing my email list since 2018.

I offer a resource (think: checklist, template, script, worksheet, etc) in exchange for an email address.

Then, I nurture that list with a daily check-in...

And, periodically, I offer something for sale: an event, workshop, bootcamp, free trial, etc.

Plant the seed. Nurture it. Harvest when ready.

And, I gotta admit...

The more I do it, the easier it gets.

Each year, my email list is more valuable than the year before.

I see it as an appreciating asset.

Take care of the list... and the list will take care of you.
