My family moved to Texas when I was 5 years old to be closer to family.

Both sets of grandparents lived out east, and my dad's parents had a 12-acre farm.

I spent a lot of summers out there, riding a Radio Flyer wagon downhill, fishing in the man-made lake, and picking plums in the small orchard.

They also had about a dozen cows on their farm.

One humid summer afternoon, I noticed something strange: the cows were licking what I thought were pool cue chalk cubes.

Huge blocks of off-white cubes dotted the field.

The cows loved them.

Turns out...

They weren't from a billiards hall up the road.

They were salt cubes.

My grandpa said they kept the cattle hydrated in the hot Texas heat.

How?

The salty cubes made them thirstier.

So, you know the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."

Yes, you can...If it's thirsty.

This is a key factor in an effective list-building strategy.

Use a free item like a lead magnet to warm up your audience and make them thirsty for your offer.

It makes selling way easier.

That's what we'll talk about in my free list-building event called "List Builder Land."

The doors aren't quite ready to be opened yet, but will be by Monday.

I'll show you how to use a great lead magnet to build a thirsty audience.

Talk soon,

~ Cody
