Not considering it.

I got a weird question in the Zoom chat today.

Here's the scene:

A few hours ago, I was presenting to a bunch of membership site owners on how I onboard new members into Email School.

I called it "Activation Engineering" and shared 5 new ways to get new members plugged in by design...

Not by default.

When I was done with my song 'n dance, I took questions.

The usual stuff...

What would you do in my scenario?

How does it work if I'm new?

But someone asked, "Hey, looks like you're doing things very simply. Have you thought about [insert super complicated tactic]?"

Um. No.

I've never considered overcomplicating my membership onboarding.

Keeping things simple helps you show up consistently and helps you get wins for your clients.

Imagine looking at your to-do list and every task looked like a high wire act...

...or a mine field...

...or an obstacle course...

You'd stay stuck.

If you over-complicate things for your clients, it's even worse.

They'll get frustrated or overwhelmed and leave.

So today's lesson is to keep things as simple as possible for as long as you can.

Simple scales.

Complex fails.

You got this,

~ Cody
