I've sent a daily email for almost 4 years now. It's the most profitable ~7 minutes of my day. Even on holidays, vacations, camping trips, or the Saturday between Christmas and New Year's... I send a short, story-based email to my list. But it's not just "any old email." There's actually a structure behind the strategy. It spells an easy-to-remember acronym: S.L.A.C.SS. Here's how it works:
This format keeps the emails short, personal, and applicable. But, the daily SLACSS structure is just 1/2 of the puzzle. Why? Well, if we only tell stories in our emails, we lull our audience to sleep. They get used to opening our emails and reading our stories, but never take action.
